Blue Zones
Blue Zones is the July 2026 pamphlet, the first in a series of three on water systems in New York City. Blue Zones is about flash floods, buried waterways, and the places water remembers to flow, despite the things we’ve built in the way. It’s inspired by the intense rains and floods we’ve had in NYC this summer, and the map scientists made recently charting the places that used to be waterways, (you can find that here), places that will most likely go back to being water in the future. Learn about adaptation: daylighting a stream, rain gardens, and if all else fails, managed retreat.
Edition of 300; letterpress, linocut, woodcut.
